Valerie Parks – Surrey Muse

Valerie has published three collections of her poetry. Her articles and poems have appeared in various journals and anthologies. Her most recent title ‘Wisdom of a Thousand Fools’ (Silver Bow Publishing, 2011) has gained her much praise. Earlier the same year, Parks had published ‘Pathways’ with Silver Bow publishing. Her first title is a chapbook about New Westminster Quay, ‘Walking Along the Quay’ that contains poems, drawings and photos by Parks.

Valerie is a long time leading member of New West Writers, a critique group based in New Westminster that caters to Lower Mainland writers. The group has published three anthologies of the writings of it’s members, and Valerie’s poems appears in all of them. As for the fourth anthology of the group, Valerie’s poetry is the first to appear in the collection.
