Cecily Nicholson is a powerful communicator who expresses herself in poetry, prose, art and activism. She has published two collections of her poems Triage (2011) and From the Poplars (2014), and she has won the 2015 Dorothy Livesay prize for poetry.
Cecily is the administrator of the artist-run Gallery Gachet, and she has worked since 2000 in the downtown eastside neighborhood of Vancouver. She has collaborated with the Joint Effort prison abolition group, the Centre for Innovation in Culture and the Arts in Canada of Thompson Rivers University, the Audain Gallery of Simon Fraser University, and VIVO Media Arts.
