Lucia Monica Gorea – Surrey Muse

Lucia Gorea is a poet, writer, an English teacher, a translator and a community builder. Her writings bring together all her experiences, providing a unique enrichment to the reader.

Lucia is the author of several books including Journey Through My Soul – a collection of love and mystical poems, Speak English for Success (Canadian and USA Editions), ESL Games and Classroom Activities, Welcome to America- A Practical Guide to Life Survival Skills! and Yukon, the Polar Bear (a children’s story that brings awareness about global warming and climate change). Her award-winning poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and literary magazines in Canada, the USA and Europe.

Lucia has won Canada’s Best 2013 WIN Canada Award. The ceremony will be held on March 23 at the 2nd Annual Literary Festival of Writers International Network Canada.

Lucia has just completed her first novel Dracula – Vlad the Impaler that will be published in the USA soon. And, at this time, she is translating poetry and fairy tales into English from other languages.

Lucia is the founder of Poetry Around the World – a multicultural, multilingual reading series in Vancouver. She is also one of the hosts of the World Poetry Café Radio Show on Co-op Radio, 100.5FM.

At the February 22nd Gathering of Surrey Muse, Lucia will present a selection from her prose.
