Eileen Kernaghan is a novelist, poet and writer of non-fiction. Born and raised in British Columbia, Eileen has written eight novels, four books of poetry as well as non-fiction writings.
Eileen’s novels include historical fantasy and science fiction genres with their settings across time and place, including 18th century Bhutan, Elizabethan England and the ancient Indus Valley city of Mohenjo-daro.
Her debut novel, Return to Aprilioth (1980), won the Silver Medal Award from the West Coast Review of Books. She went on to win a number of national awards including the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy (CASFAF) Award in 1984 for Songs from the Drowned Lands and the CASFAF Award in 1990 for the Snow Queen.
