Katherine Wagner writes speculative fiction as KT Wagner with occasional forays into other genres. Her most recent story can be found in Tiger Shark Magazine, a UK on-line publication. It’s a mystery titled ‘The Hemlock Solution‘. Her work has been short-listed for PNWA’s 2014 Science Fiction award, the Raven and Hummingbird contests, Room Magazine’s fiction award in 2013, and she made it to the third round of NYC Midnight’s short story challenge in 2014. KT is a student at the SFU’s Writers’ Studio, a Southbank Writers 2013 alumnus, and an organizer of Golden Ears Writers in Maple Ridge.
Her craft is important to her, and this is part of how she views her work:
‘Horror, romance, setting as character, symbolism, allegory…again, the atmosphere…often in combination with supernatural elements, the occult, death, insanity, mystery and religious fanaticism; some or all may be found in individual works.’
At the September 25 gathering of Surrey Muse, KT will read from her published writings. More about the event is here:
