Janet Fretter writes short fiction and narrative nonfiction while working to finish her first novel. She is the managing editor of emerge an annual anthology produced by the students of the Writer’s Studio (TWS), and she provides mini-manuscript consults at Vancouver Public Library for TWS.
A graduate of Simon Fraser University’s inaugural Southbank Writers’ Program (2012), Janet continued on as a member of the fiction cohort in TWS 2013, and then as fiction mentor apprentice In 2014.
Janet is a member of Federation of BC Writers, an avid reader of books, and a vibrant contributor to some of Vancouver Lower Mainland’s writing communities where she supports all things ‘literary and local’.
