Trudy Davies is an author, illustrator and poet with background in health and education. She has published a children’s story book, two chapbooks of learning with children, and a collection of poetry. Her first book Butterfly Dreams: Milo’s Adventure was based on much loved bedtime stories she told her own children, this one about a magical butterfly that would take them on wonderful adventures. Her two chapbooks FUN WITH WORDS: There’s a Reason for the Rhyme 1 and 2 were published by request of children, teachers and parents. Wings for the Spirit: A journey to hope and love in all seasons is a collection of about 100 of Trudy’s poems combined with her husband Jim Davies’s photography and some of her own artwork. Her poems have been published in magazines, newspapers, anthologies, newsletters, given as gifts, used for cards, and made into songs.

For Trudy, creative writing, painting and music are enjoyable and also therapeutic. Her career as an occupational therapist spanned almost 30 years, providing rich experiences with people of all ages. Much of the time she worked with children and their families in hospitals, schools and their homes. Butterfly Dreams: Milo’s Adventure was written and illustrated with the intention of giving families a cuddle-up time with their kids.
