Parabjot K. Singh is a writer, radio host and activist. Her poems have been published in the PULP, a literary arts magazine of Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), and in RAINBOW: Anthology of South Asian Writers by South Asian Literary Society of Canada. She has presented her work at Surrey Muse, Surrey Muse Writers, and at KPU’s poetry gatherings and year end readings. Since grade 12, Parabjot has been co-hosting the children’s show, Sade Bache Sada Virsa (Our Children Our Heritage) on RedFM Radio. She also serves as one of the board members of Punjabi Language Education Association (PLEA). Parabjot does not favor any writers ‘because all writers’ writings have something to teach us. I perceive writing as something personal; thus, I don’t like to praise one writer over another. I enjoy reading works by various authors and exposing myself to different styles of writing.’ An alumni of KPU having majored in English with a minor in psychology, Parabjot is in the brainstorming phase of her next writing and it’s not clear if it will be poems or stories.
At the September 22 gathering of Surrey Muse, Parabjot will begin the Open Mic Session. More about the event is here: september-22-gathering
