Edward Stefan Kuris is a painter, sculptor and poet who is an Associate of the Ontario College of Art (OCAD) since the 70s. An abstract figurative painter, Ed makes soapstone, wood and metal sculptures, brass and copper jewelry, and his work has been displayed in numerous solo and juried group shows in Guelph, Toronto, Fergus, Elora, Quebec, Slovak Republic, Cuba, and Japan. Ed has published two poetry chapbooks, heaven from pennies and lifeboats, and his poems have been published in over forty literary journals across Canada and abroad. He also did a poetry voiceover written for a video titled ‘Cast Aside’ about the aesthetics of dereliction and the fate of IMICO, an abandoned malleable iron factory in Guelph built in 1912. Born in Cape Breton NS in 1947, Ed studied Fine Arts at the University of Windsor and at Ontario College of arts (OCA). He now lives in Guelph, Ontario.
