Tariq Hussain – Surrey Muse

Tariq Hussain is a Juno nominated singer/songwriter and recording artist who is also a member of the critically acclaimed Vancouver band, Brasstronaut. The songs on Tariq’s latest solo offering, Telegrams, feel a bit like short stories, brief glimpses into fictional lives. Tariq is also a nonfiction writer whose essays on song craft have appeared in Walrus Magazine. He is currently working on a memoir about growing up as a first generation Canadian kid who dreams of playing in a rock n’ roll band. Tariq teaches lyric writing in the Creative Writing Program at UBC.
