Angus Pratt is a poet, essayist, health activist, and a transplanted Scot who is grateful to be living on the unceded territory of the Tsawwassen, Semiahmoo, Katzie, Kwantlen. At thirteen, he won a Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation contest with an essay on pond life. During time living in northern Saskatchewan, the Wild Rice Writers group supported his venture into poetry. After his diagnosis with lung cancer and male breast cancer he resumed writing. Now he crafts his poetry, medical naratives, and a blog documenting his cancer journey. His digital stories have been showcased several times at the Wellspring Digital Story Festival based in Calgary.
At the August 26, 2022 gathering of Surrey Muse, Angus will be the Emerging Writer. More about the event is here: friday-august-26
