Sharon Berg – Surrey Muse

Sharon Berg is a poet, author and educator who has just launched her debut collection of short fiction, Naming the Shadows (Porcupine’s Quill, September 2019). Her poetry collections include To a Young Horse (Borealis Press, 1979), The Body Labyrinth (Coach House Press, 1984), and a number of chapbooks. Her work has been published in Quarry, The Fiddlehead and The Malahat Review. Sharon runs an international literary e-zine and chapbook press, Big Pond Rumours, that she established in 2006. Most of her work focuses on First Nations history and education. Sharon lives in Sarnia, Ontario.

Johnny MacRae – Surrey Muse

Johnny MacRae is a poet, performer and an arts educator who is a three-time winner of regional slam poetry championship: Vancouver grand slam 2010, Vancouver indy slam 2013 and 2016. In 2013, he was named Poet of Honour for Victoria Spoken Word Festival. He also was a national underground champion at Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in 2011. A former member of two Vancouver Poetry Slam teams (2009/2010) and one Victoria Poetry Slam team (2013), Johnny has offered hundreds of performances at slams, readings and performing arts festivals across Canada and the United States. He performs both solo and as a member of psychedelic talk rock duo, 2 Dope Boys in a Cadillac. Johnny attended Spoken Word residencies at the Banff Centre twice, and was a three-time ensemble member at the Victoria Spoken Word Festival including the 2015 All Star Ensemble.

Winston Le – Surrey Muse

Winston Le is a Vietnamese-Canadian poet and an arts organizer living in Langley, BC. His debut chapbook, translanguaging was shortlisted for the 2018 Broken Pencil Zine Awards. His poems have been featured in both Filling Station and Seagery Zine. He was the Events Coordinator for Asians on Edge, an Asian-Canadian diasporic literary event. He most recently collaborated with multi-instrumentalist composer Cameron Catalano in composing a song as part of Art Song Lab 2019, performed at Pyatt Hall by soprano singer Robyn Driedger-Klassen and pianist Rachel Iwaasa. Winston is now working on his next collection of poems.

Enna B. de Guzman – Surrey Muse

Enna is a writer of creative prose and children’s literature. Her work has appeared in anthologies ‘More Here Than Before‘ published by Vancouver Public Library and ‘Surrey Stories Connect‘ published by Surrey Libraries. Enna has experience in business writing, and she has presented her research on mediation and workplace bullying at international conferences. At this time, Enna is writing ‘Ardenne Through the Seasons‘, a book she began to write for her granddaughter, Ardenne, and other young children ‘to learn more about the world’.
