Lend Me Your Underbelly – Surrey Muse

‘Lend me your underbelly’ is the alias of Christian Berends, a musician and artist based in the Netherlands who ‘tries to create mesmerizing and surreal music where time is dilated’. Previously a member of the black metal band Salacious Gods, Christian began to explore ‘the dreamy and psychedelic side of music’ since 2011. Fueled by improvisation, nature and spiritual grounding, his experimental field recordings awash through guitar, ‘speaking in the language of the ancients, blowing as a still storm hanging in defiance to gravity itself’. Christian uses Guitar and a variety of other instruments as well as loopers and vocals ‘to explore the edges of inner musical perceptions.’
