In celebration of our 5th anniversary on 25 November 2016, Surrey Muse is introducing new projects. This page has the updates.
Surrey Muse At Large (SMAL)
SMAL is an attempt to take a shorter form of Surrey Muse programming to communities that may not be able to otherwise access it. The latest is Garden Plot Reading Series set to happen this Summer at the Plot Sharing Garden in Newton. Earlier, in collaboration with VG PlayRoom SMAL had organized Word Arts LIVE Series from February to June 2017 at Alexandra Neighborhood House in South Surrey.
Pakistan’s Women Heroes
Surrey Muse, in collaboration with South Asian Network for Secularism and Democracy (SANSAD) and Committee of Progressive Pakistani Canadians (CPPC), is honored to produce a memorial program to present Pakistan’s and local women’s lives and their life long contributions to Pakistani society and to the international women’s movements. The project will produce a 3-hour stage show celebrating the lives of over 15 women from Pakistan and Canada. It will be presented on Saturday, September 28-2019, 6-9 PM, at the Centre Stage in Surrey City Hall.
Surrey Muse Writers
Surrey Muse Writers (SMW) is a once-a-month free drop-in critique group for writers that will begin to take place in 2019-2020. A 3-month bi-monthly trial run carried out in 2016 has established need.
