Carla Stein – Surrey Muse

Carla Stein is a poet and painter who has released two poetry chapbooks titled ‘Sideways Glances of an Everyday Sailor’ and ‘Shrieking from the Shore’. She is the current artistic director of Wordstorm Society of the Arts, and a co-founder of 15 Minutes of Infamy, a wordcraft performance venue based in Nanaimo, Canada. Her images and poetry have been published in anthologies and literary magazines including ‘Sustenance’, ‘Lemonspouting’, ‘Pocket Lint’, ‘Stonecoast Review’, ‘Please Hear What I’m Not Saying’, ‘Sad Girl Review’, ‘Ascent Aspirations’, ‘Friday’s Poems’, ‘Island Arts Magazine’, ‘Polar Starlight’, ‘An Anthology of Nanaimo Poetry’ and others.

Ian Cognitō – Surrey Muse

Ian Cognitō is a poet, author and the founder and artistic director of 15 Minutes of Infamy, a word-craft cabaret in Nanaimo BC where he also works as the assistant director of the WordStorm Society of the Arts. Since authoring flora, fauna & h. sapiens, a poetic tango with co-author, Pat Smekal, Ian has been putting the finishing touches on Animusings: a bestiary of poetic reflection. He also writes short fiction and has an extensive portfolio of children’s fiction in verse. His other incarnations have included language instructor, child and youth care worker, and theatrical clown (in no particular order). Ian lives in Yellowpoint BC.
