Cristy Watson – Surrey Muse

Cristy Watson is a poet, and an award-winning author of eight novels for middle grade and young adult readers. Her titles include ‘On Cue’ (2016), ‘Benched’ (2011), and ‘Living Rough’ (2011). As a poet, she received an editor’s choice award in CV2’s 2-Day Poem contest in 2013. Cristy also participates in the Poetry Marathon in June, preferring the half-marathon where she writes twelve poems to twelve prompts in twelve hours. She volunteers at the Surrey International Writer’s Conference. At this time, Cristy is the Committee Chair for Wise Words and she is looking forward to engaging senior writers in a meaningful dialogue through this new project by the Federation of BC Writers (FBCW).

Aidan Chafe – Surrey Muse

Aidan Chafe is a public school teacher, author and poet. His debut collection of poems Short History of Light is published by McGill-Queen’s University Press. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in CV2, EVENT and The Maynard. He lives in Burnaby, BC.

Kyle McKillop – Surrey Muse

Kyle McKillop is a poet, teacher and traveler. His full name translates as Narrows Crooked Nose Son of Lover of Horses. He recently graduated from UBC’s creative writing MFA program with a thesis in poetry, and his work has appeared in a variety of places, including CV2, English Practice, and the Sustenance anthology of BC food writing from Anvil Press. He is also the president of the Surrey English Teachers’ Association.
