Lucy is an inveterate eavesdropper: she collects voices, dialects and stories and weaves them into her writing. She is the author of The Marzipan Fruit Basket, a collection of short stories, Eleanor Courtown, a work of historical fiction, and Stella’s Carpet, a novel about intergenerational trauma. The Brickworks, a historical novel, will be released in the Fall of 2023. Her stories have been published in Britain, Ireland, the USA and Canada. She lives with her partner in the small lakeside town of Port Perry, Ontario, the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island, First Nations. Lucy has received Honorable Mention for the Joy Kogawa Award for Fiction 2022.
