Darcie Friesen Hossack – Surrey Muse

Darcie Friesen Hossack is a writer, editor and publisher who was the nominated author for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize 2011 for her collection of short stories titled Mennonites Don’t Dance, that also was a runner up for the Danuta Gleed Award in the same year. Darcie has created a global online literary journal, WordCity Monthly under the banner of UNESCO-Rila Affiliate Poet Mbizo Chirasha’s Time of the Poet Republic. Darcie lately completed a novel called Stillwater where, in North Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, for a family with a Mennonite mother and a Seventh-day Adventist father, the End Times are just around the corner. Darcie is a graduate of the Humber School for Writers.
