Rachel Thompson – Surrey Muse

Rachel Thompson is an author, poet and a mentor who has self-published seven works of nonfiction including a series on the themes of child sexual abuse and women’s empowerment titled ‘Broken Pieces’ (2012), ‘Broken Places’ (2015), and ‘Broken People’ (2021). Her writings have won various distinctions and awards including First Place in the 2017 Chanticleer Journey Awards for Narrative Non-Fiction, 2014 Kindle Book Award Non-Fiction Finalist, 2013 Global eBook Award Women Studies Non-Fiction Gold Medal Winner, 2013 eFestival of Words Best Non-Fiction (General) Winner, and 2013 Orangeberry Hall of Fame Best Non-Fiction Winner. Rachel has founded an author branding and marketing consultancy service at BadRedhead Media where she shares her knowledge and experience of writing, publishing and marketing. In her advocay projects, she creates opportunities to connect with the survivors of childhood sexual abuse by providing safe spaces to discuss and relate personal stories. Rachel has created #SexAbuseChat on Twitter (every Tuesday, 10 am pst), and a secret Facebook group for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and she is ‘humbled to share many of her fellow authors’ stories on her blog’.
